The pregnant me managed to survive the whole morning without puking.
Well, until now.

Never mind the sink, letting that bird sit in a room temp environment for as many hours as it takes to brine turns it into a pathogen factory. He’s playing food poisoning roulette.
Livelih00d
Feels gross but realistically it’s probably fine.
MolecularConcepts
it’s going to be cooked. I don’t see the problem.

This is why I don’t eat at other peoples houses. People are nasty.

Do people not own coolers?
CT0292
I use a bucket.
It’s got a lid. Everything is sealed up in there.

Um, what about *the ocean*? I mean, it’s literally salt water.

I do it every year because our turkeys to big for the bucket …. Scrub and bleach the sink rinse it out make your brine mix submerge turkey
You people can afford a big ass turkey but not a disposable foam cooler to put the turkey in to brine? Seriously!?
LuchaLakeShow
Oh wow what the fuck man

I’ve been brining turkeys for years. Food-grade plastic bucket that is only used for brining, gets thoroughly washed and sanitized before and after any use. Turkey goes in the brining bucket with brine, water and a crap-load of ice, and lives in the cold garage while it’s doing its magic.

Man that turkey will kill y’all

This is why I no longer partake in work potlucks anymore. Three instances of food poisoning in less than two years, all within a day of a work potluck? Hmm…

He better hurry up with that turkey. That sink needs to be filled with punch.
Jimbo-Slice925
I just want to know what he scrubbed the sink with…
VexTheTielfling
Usually a brine will go overnight. Is he keeping that bird under 40°f for 8-12hrs outside the fridge?
Ealy-24
Amateur, this is why I always brine my Turkey in a kiddy pool on the porch
