    It’s got a lid. Everything is sealed up in there.

    I do it every year because our turkeys to big for the bucket …. Scrub and bleach the sink rinse it out make your brine mix submerge turkey

  15. You people can afford a big ass turkey but not a disposable foam cooler to put the turkey in to brine? Seriously!?

    I’ve been brining turkeys for years. Food-grade plastic bucket that is only used for brining, gets thoroughly washed and sanitized before and after any use. Turkey goes in the brining bucket with brine, water and a crap-load of ice, and lives in the cold garage while it’s doing its magic.

    Usually a brine will go overnight. Is he keeping that bird under 40°f for 8-12hrs outside the fridge?
